EpisodesCreate and review a synchronized transcript

Create and review a synchronized transcript

Create a timed transcript for any episode, review it with synchronized playback, edit speaker names, and publish when you are ready. Includes credit costs and troubleshooting.

Create a synchronized transcript for any episode with real timing, synchronized playback, and editable speaker assignments. Transcripts are opt-in for standard uploads. You see and confirm the exact credit quote before processing starts.

Before you start

  • You need at least one episode with audio uploaded.
  • You need AI credits in your balance. Each plan includes a monthly allowance: 250 on Solo, 1,000 on Slate, 3,000 on Syndicate. You can add prepaid credits from the pricing page.
  • Standard transcript processing costs 3 credits per audio minute with a 10-credit minimum per episode.
  • Transcripts are opt-in. Your episodes are not transcribed automatically unless you choose it.

You can also supply your own transcript text or reuse a transcript from another episode. See Supplied or reusable transcripts below.

Create a transcript

Open the episode

In your show, open the episode you want to transcribe and go to the private episode workspace.

Choose to create a transcript

Select the transcript option. If this is your first time, you will see an explanation of how it works.

Review the credit quote

You see the exact credit cost based on your audio length, including the 10-credit minimum. The quote shows the number of credits that will be deducted. Nothing is processed until you confirm.

Confirm and start processing

If you are happy with the quote, confirm it. Processing begins and credits are deducted from your balance.

Wait for the transcript

Processing time depends on audio length. You can leave the page and come back. The transcript appears in the episode workspace when it is ready.

Synchronized playback and speaker assignment

When the transcript is ready, it opens in a synchronized review view.

The review stays private in the episode workspace. Nothing is published until you approve it.

Supplied or reusable transcripts

If you already have a transcript file, you can upload it instead of generating a new one. You can also reuse a transcript from another episode in the same show. Supplied transcripts are matched to your audio timing during review, and you can adjust the alignment if needed.

What happens next

  • Once you are happy with the transcript, approve it in the episode workspace.
  • After approval, the transcript is attached to the episode.
  • You can still edit the transcript after approval if you spot something later.
  • You can reuse the transcript text for show notes, social posts, or accessibility.

Transcripts are a simple way to get more from every episode. They improve searchability and accessibility for listeners who prefer to read along.

Billing and privacy

  • Standard transcript processing costs 3 credits per audio minute with a 10-credit minimum per episode.
  • You see and confirm the exact credit quote before any credits are deducted.
  • Supplied transcripts do not cost credits to upload, but timing alignment may use credits depending on the file.
  • Your transcript and audio stay private in the episode workspace until you approve and publish.

Troubleshooting

The transcript has missing or incomplete timing

If some lines are not timed to your audio:

  • Wait a moment and refresh. Timing is sometimes finalized a few seconds after the text appears.
  • If timing remains incomplete after a full refresh, the audio may have a long silence or low-quality section. Try reprocessing the transcript.
  • If you supplied your own transcript file, check that it matches the audio length. Adjust the alignment in the review view.

Speaker names are wrong or merged

  • Open the transcript in the synchronized review view.
  • Click on a speaker label to rename it.
  • To split a speaker, select the lines that belong to a different person and assign a new name.
  • To merge two speakers, rename one to match the other.

I was charged credits but the transcript did not appear

  • Check your credit balance to confirm the deduction.
  • Wait a few minutes and refresh the episode workspace.
  • If the transcript still does not appear, contact us and we will investigate.

I do not see the transcript option

  • Transcripts are opt-in. If you do not see the option, AI features may not be enabled for your account.
  • Check that you have AI credits in your balance.
  • See Dashboard tour for where transcript tools appear.
