Troubleshooting
Fixes for the most common issues when hosting your podcast on Budapest.fm.
Most issues have a simple cause. Here are the ones we see most often and how to sort them.
My new episode is not showing in my podcast app
Your Budapest.fm feed updates the instant you publish, but podcast apps refresh on their own schedule, which can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.
- Confirm the episode is published, not saved as a draft.
- Give the app a little time, then refresh your feed manually if it offers that option.
- Check the episode appears on your public show page, which confirms it is live in your feed.
My show is not on Apple or Spotify yet
New shows are reviewed before they are listed, which usually takes from a few hours to a few days.
- Make sure you submitted your correct feed URL.
- Make sure you have at least one published episode.
- Wait for the platform's review to finish, then add its link to your show page.
My audio will not upload
- Check your internet connection and try again; large files take longer.
- Use an MP3 if you are unsure about the format.
- If it keeps failing, try a smaller test file to narrow down the cause, then get in touch.
My cover art was rejected
Directories are strict about artwork. Make sure your image is:
- Square, between 1400 and 3000 pixels on each side
- A JPG or PNG in RGB colour
See Description and cover art for the full requirements.
I did not get an email from Budapest.fm
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Make sure you are using the email address you signed up with.
- For a password reset, request a fresh link from budapest.fm/login.
